Italy remains leader in aircraft industry. Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti confirmed that Italy was chosen to be the European center for maintenance of all the F35 that will fly in Europe.
Definitely a positive news in terms of image and economics, meaning more activities for the sector and for the city of Novara and its province (the plant will be in Cameri).
“Among many countries Italy was chosen as center of maintenance for all F35 that will fly in Europe – said the Minister Roberta Pinotti at the presence of US ambassador John Philips in Rome – for those purchased by European countries and the American ones which will fly here. Instead of being only buyers we thought to become industrial partners. The international competition was very strong. This achievement should be very fruitful for our country. Ninety Italian companies will work on the technology project of the F35. ”
This achievement was seized with enthusiasm by Mauro Moretti of Finmeccanica: “The choice of Cameri site as the only structure in Europe for logistics and maintenance of high-tech F-35 is further evidence of excellence levels of Finmeccanica aeronautics. The activities to be undertaken at the establishment, significant for their high technology, will have important employment and economic returns”.scritto da Itim il 3 February 2015
